As Lunar New Year approaches, our City of Sydney’s diverse community is devastated to learn of Lord Mayor Clover Moore’s cuts to Bilingual Rhyme Time and Storytime at the Darling Square Library, from weekly to monthly. 

Bilingual Rhyme Time is a wonderful, interactive literacy program for children aged 0- 2 years old. Storytime offers the same amazing program for children aged 3-5.

With songs and rhymes performed in both English and Mandarin, this free City service provides important early literacy growth, encouraging rich cultural development. 

With Darling Square a short 3 minute walk to the heart of Chinatown, why would the Lord Mayor and City of Sydney reduce bilingual library sessions?
